The 2024 Quad Cities Air Show was held in Davenport, Iowa, on June 22nd and 23rd. The event featured an impressive lineup, including the F-22 Raptor Demo Team led by Davenport native Commander Captain Samuel “RaZZ” Larson. Other headliners included the EA-18G Growler Demo Team, Randy Ball flying his MiG-17 Fresco, Nathan Hammond in Ghostwriter, the KC Flight Formation Team, Bob Carlton in his Twin Fox jet glider, and “Mr. Mulligan.”
The show also showcased historic warbirds like the FM-2 Wildcat from the American Airpower Museum and the P-47 Thunderbolt “Chief Ski-U-Man II” flown by Steve-O Hinton.
For many, the highlight was Captain RaZZ Larson’s final hometown performance in the F-22 Raptor. This poignant moment resonated deeply with family, friends, and locals who had watched RaZZ evolve from a young photographer into the commander of the Raptor Demo Team.
Other notable performances included the EA-18G Growlers' classic two-ship demo, enhanced by a rare heritage flight featuring the FM-2 Wildcat. The duo B-25 Mitchell flight, with “Miss Mitchell” and “ccc,” and a tandem MD-500 helicopter display also thrilled the audience.
Overall, the 2024 Quad Cities Air Show was a spectacular event, filled with excitement and memorable performances. The show is set to return on August 24th-25th, 2025, and anticipation is already building for another incredible experience. Hope to see you there!
